Fast forward a little more than 230 years and that dream is under attack, the Constitution is seen more as a stumbling block to change and reform than it is as a triumphant document of government for and by the people. This vision of our founding document and philosophy is held by many politicians and bureaucrats, regardless of political party or persuasion. The American people however still envision an American Dream, the opportunity to become the best that they possibly can. They want a government that protects everyone's interest and not just the special interests. Whether they express it or not, they want an America that holds true to the Constitution, an America that doesn't forget why she declared her independence from a tyrannical government that had given up even the facade of representative rule. This is The American Declaration!
